Keys, seats, moving to a new machine, and what happens if we vanish.
What free covers
One person and one agent, with nothing switched off and no clock running: dictation, all three tools, every voice, the hotkey, the word list and history. Pro starts to matter when there is more than one agent, session or machine in play.

Buy, and the key arrives by email
One key. There is no account to create and no password to choose, because there is nothing on our side for you to log into.
- 2
Paste it into the menu bar icon, under Enter licence key
This Mac claims a seat, once, and after that your Mac checks the signature by itself. That is why a plane or an outage costs you nothing, and why we never see what you do with it.

Move machines whenever you need to
A key holds a number of seats. Claiming one on a new machine happens when you paste the key. To free one held by a machine you no longer use, choose Show my seats on your licence page: the email it sends links to a list of your Macs with a Release button beside each.
If we disappear
Your key keeps working for about six weeks and then it needs its seat renewed, which is a request to this website. Day to day nothing asks us for permission, because the check is a signature your Mac verifies by itself. But the seat behind it is renewed here monthly, and if we were gone there would eventually be nothing to renew against. Ask us before you buy if that matters to you.
When it goes wrong
It says the key has no seats left
Every seat is claimed, usually by a machine you no longer use. A machine that has not renewed for forty-five days gives its seat back on its own.
Sooner than that, open your licence page, choose Show my seats, and release the old one from the emailed link. The seat is free for the new Mac at once.
I have lost the key
It was in an email, and emails get deleted.
Ask for it again from the licence page using the address you bought with.
It stopped working after about six weeks offline
The receipt behind the seat is renewed monthly, and it had nothing to renew against.
Connect once and it renews itself. Nothing about your usage is sent: the request carries the key and a hash of the hardware id, and that is all.
